Spring is Here!
Desert Gardening Basics: Gardening here is much different than in most areas of the U.S., offering special rewards and special challenges. This presentation is designed to familiarize newcomers with the unique climate, soil, and native plant types in the Sonoran Desert to help them transition successfully. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.
Warm Season Vegetable Gardening: Warm season vegetable gardening in Tucson is different. Time to get ready for the hot season – and yes, you can grow delicious fresh food even through the hottest part of the year. Master Gardeners have the information you need to make your best vegetable garden ever.
Herb Gardening: Herb gardening is easy and rewarding here in the Tucson desert. Even beginners can have great success growing their own herbs year ‘round. We’ll learn which herbs do well here, which ones do best in pots, and when all the different varieties of herbs should be planted

Pollinator Month
Plant a Flutterscape:How to fill your yard with beautiful butterflies by using the plants that attract them. Learn which plants are best, how to plant and care for them, and bring your yard alive as never before.
Pollinators and the Plants They Love: Our southwestern landscape attracts many pollinators, including 1300 species of native bees, 18 species of hummingbirds, and 3 species of nectar bats that migrate back south to overwinter. Learn about our favorite insect and bird friends, what plants they love and how to meet their requirements in your backyard.
Wildflowers: In Arizona wildflowers are beautiful and also fickle. What makes a great or not so great wildflower year? How can you improve your chances of success growing wildflowers in your own landscape? Join Master Gardener Arlene Madsen to find out.
Shade Gardening: A “too-shady” yard can be an opportunity to create a beautiful garden with plants that flourish with little light. Trees, succulents, flowers, you can have it all even under the shade of old established trees. Come and learn from Master Gardeners how to create your own Shade Garden.
