Certified Food Protection Manager Training and Certification

Become a Certified Food Protection Manager with our ANAB-accredited training and certification program. If you manage or supervise employees who handle, prepare, store, or serve food, the Food Safety Manager Training Course will help you prepare for the certification exam. 

What the Certification Exam Covers

The Food Protection Manager Certification Exam assesses your knowledge of:

  • Preventing food contamination, including cross-contamination
  • Food worker health and hygiene habits
  • Safe use of tools, equipment, and utensils in food preparation
  • Managerial responsibilities in food safety
  • Regulatory compliance and record keeping
  • The role of facility design in food safety

Passing this nationally recognized exam is required to become a Certified Food Protection Manager, an industry standard for food safety leadership.

In-Person Class Structure

  • Arrive 10 minutes early; class begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
  • Includes the National Environmental Health Association’s Professional Food Manager Training Manual
  • Includes a 30-minute lunch break (bring your own lunch)
  • Proctored exam at the end of the course
  • Course concludes with the proctored exam

Fees and Registration

  • $130 (non-refundable) - Training including the exam
  • $35 - In-person exam retake (payable to State Food Safety)
  • $90 - Online exam retake (payable to State Food Safety)
