Volunteer Opportunities
Each year, over 3,000 volunteers increase the reach of Arizona Cooperative Extension and contribute to meaningful change in their communities. Our local offices serve every county and 22 Native American tribes, meaning there is likely an opportunity to get involved that fits your interests and is close to home. How will you make a difference?
4-H
Volunteers are role models, educators, life coaches and friends. They guide 4-H youth in their community through hands-on projects that teach leadership, build life skills and grow confidence so kids are ready for whatever comes next.
Master Gardener
Put your green thumb to work as a community educator. You'll complete training on science-based practices for environmentally responsible gardening and landscaping tailored to your region.
More ways to volunteer
The programs provided by Cooperative Extension are as diverse as the people they serve. The best way to explore volunteer needs near you is to connect with someone at your local office.
Examples of additional programming happening across the state.
- Arizona Project WET - Volunteers deliver water education to Arizona K-12 students that encourage exploration and inquiry around stewardship and wise water use.
- The Garden Kitchen - Based in south Tucson, the kitchen and associated garden connect families to seed-to-table gardening and cooking education so they can bring healthy meals to the kitchen table.
- Tucson Village Farm - TVF is a working, urban farm built by and for the youth of Arizona to reconnect young people to healthy food systems, teach them to grow and prepare fresh food and empower them to make healthy life choices.
