To become a certified food manager, you must pass the Food Protection Manager Certification Exam. Our online training course includes a free practice test and study guide.
Class Structure
The online verison of the training is spread over three days of live class and self-guided mateials. You may use a smartphone, laptop, or any other device that accommodates a Zoom call to attend the virtual classes.
- Day 1 - Live virtual class conducted via Zoom from 9:00am to 11:00am
- Day 2 - Self-guided materials and videoo
- Day 3 - Live virtual class conducted via Zoom from 9:00am to 11:00am
- After you complete the training you can sign up for the State Food Safety online exam through the D2L community site.
- If you need accommodations for a documented disability, click here(link is external). The application must be submitted and approved by State Food Safety PRIOR to the testing date. Be sure to submit your paperwork at least 2 weeks before the exam in order for State Food Safety to receive and approve your request.
Fees
- $120 non-refundable for training including the exam
- $35 for the in-person exam retake (payable to State Food Safety)
- $90 for the online exam retake (payable to State Food Safety)
Technology requirements for the State Food Safety Exam
The exam must be taken with a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam. System Requirements for the State Food Safety Exam:
- Windows Vista or higher for PC users
- Mac OS X 10.5 or Higher for Mac users
- Internet download speed of .768Mbps or higher
- Internet upload speed of .384Mbps or higher
- RAM of 1024MB or higher
- Chromebooks, phones, and tablets are currently not compatible with online proctoring
