Pollinators are vital to our survival. As key pollinators, bees ensure that we have fruit, vegetables, and nuts and are important to the survival of many plants and animals in our environment.
Why They Are Important
Bees are valuable partly because they feed from many types of plants. Any plant with flowers requires pollination to propagate, and bees are exceptionally good at this, because they travel relatively long distances carrying pollen on their legs from plant to plant. Beekeeping is a great way to contribute to biodiversity and keep your local ecosystem healthier.
