Arizona Livestock Incident Response Team (ALIRT)
Providing on the ground expertise to Arizona ranchers facing unexplained livestock health problems.
Overview
Operated by the Arizona Department of Agriculture in partnership with the University of Arizona, Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association, USDA, and trained local veterinarians, ALIRT provides on-site assessments and laboratory testing to identify livestock health problems such as disease, toxins, or poisoning. The program is state-funded and offered at no cost to producers.

Supporting Arizona cattle producers
Discovering a serious livestock health problem can be stressful, but ALIRT’s trained experts respond quickly to provide on-the-ground support and free access to diagnostic facilities. They collect accurate histories and samples, and connect multiple agencies and producers to ensure prompt processing and priority laboratory handling.
