Wells & Septic Systems
Having a well or septic system means you take ownership over the quality of water coming into your home and managing your own sewage treatment by safely recycling household wasterwater back into the natural environment.
Free Water Testing for Private Well Owners
The Arizona Department of Health Services offers affordable water testing for private well owners. The program covers the cost of delivering your kit and testing — you only need to pay the return shipping fee. This is a great opportunity to learn about the quality of your water. The well must be in Arizona, used for drinking and cooking, and must not have been tested for metals in the past five years or you are concerned about its safety.
The program is currently paused. Please reach out to WellWaterQuality@azdhs.gov with questions.
