Speaker: Maricopa County Master Gardener Alice Garcia
If you want to enjoy walking into your yard and seeing butterflies, birds, bees, beneficial insects and small animals in your landscape this class is for you! You will learn how to create and design a garden to attract native desert wildlife, learn some new garden tips and learn about which trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials and annuals provide food and shelter for our native wildlife.
Alice Garcia became a Master Gardener in 2019 after relocating to Mesa. She has lived in several different areas of the country and has always been successful in gardening. However, Alice found that gardening in Arizona offered unique challenges, and she was determined to be successful with desert gardening. She frequently speaks at the Home and Garden Shows, local garden clubs and at the New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning at Mesa Community College. Alice relates to “lifelong learning” and definitely sees gardening in the desert as an ongoing and never-ending process.
