Cochise Curious Quails Youth-Nature Program
Overview
The Curious Quails Youth-Nature Program helps families with young kids to enjoy learning and playing outside. We think that the outdoors can be a great place for fun, learning, and movement. Here’s what we do:
- Find local nature spaces where families can be active and have fun.
- Host regular events for outdoor activities and social connections (for youth, families, and the community).
- Help families to explore nature in their own communities.
- Work with local partners to strengthen community impact and make it all happen.
Curious Quails, under the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and AZ Health Zone, strives to accomplish two things:
- Offer free, fun, and valuable community events within our local outdoor spaces. Our events include community walks at a leisurely pace; creative nature-themed activity stations where kids can learn about and interact with nature; and resourceful tables from local programs and partners who serve the community. Events are tailored specifically for families with young children, though we welcome all youth and community members!
- Increase and enhance access to nature spaces and outdoor opportunities within the local community. We strive to make nature accessible within our local communities, and we use valuable feedback from community members and partners to advocate for enhanced nature spaces in our local communities.
This program was inspired in part by the Nature Niños programs in Prescott, AZ, and Albuquerque, NM.
