What is Beef Quality Assurance?
Beef Quality Assurance is a voluntary producer driven program that is based on HACCP principles from recommended national guidelines and research. The BQA program is nationally coordinated, state implemented that provides systemic information to U.S. beef producers that can be used to raise cattle responsibly using science based and common-sense practices. The mission of BQA is to maximize consumer confidence in and acceptance of practices that influence the safety, wholesomeness, and quality of beef and beef products.
How do I become BQA certified?
It’s easy to become certified! You can choose an in-person (link to the page for in-person information) or online by visiting the National BQA website
What are BQA CEU’s?
BQA continuing education units (CEU’s) are credits that you can earn by attending an approved BQA CEU program (link to page with BQA CEU information) to re-certify your BQA certification. If you earn 4 CEU while you’re holding an active BQA certification, you’re good to go and can extend your certification for another 3 years.
Not sure if your BQA certification is expired or when it will expire?
You can access your certification profile at any time by visiting the National BQA database (link to website: https://bqa.beeflearningcenter.org). If you have any other questions or need help, please contact Nate Brawley at nqbrawley@arizona.edu.
