Health and Fitness | 4-H Project Curriculum & Resources

In the health and fitness project area, youth design a personal fitness plan and track it using their own fitness file. Through interviews and personal experiences youth discover benefits to being fit as they practice making decisions, speaking with others, and managing themselves. Youth learn the importance of first aid as well as techniques for taking care of cuts and scrapes, nosebleeds, stings, burns, and other concerns. This project area is related to many other healthy living projects.

  • There are many National 4-H Health and Fitness resources available that also connect with all other healthy living project areas.
  • National 4-H Healthy Living Activity Guide with  over 30 Activities related to health and fitness
  • North Dakota University Extension 4-H Recreation Activity guide
  • 4-H Food and Fun Fitness Curriculum from Oregon State University Extension
