Urban Ag Production, Small-Scale, Beginner Farmer Program

Program Contact: Ayman Mostafa Associate Area Agent.

Currently, 50% of Arizona farms have fewer than ten acres of land in their operation, with 88% of the farms earning less than $25,000 in annual sales (USDA, 2017). Many of these farmers are new to agriculture and need assistance with crop production, infrastructure design, business, marketing, and sustainability.

Maricopa County's Urban Ag/Beginner Farmer Program provides urban, small-scale, beginner, and aspiring farmers educational programming that will help build a foundation necessary for a success.
