Supporting families and building community
Family Resource Centers are welcoming spaces where families can connect with other parents and caregivers and access vital services. While programming varies by location, many offer parenting classes, parent-child activities, child developmental screening, and community events. Families can also connect with local support for housing, childcare, food, and healthcare.

Santa Cruz County
Locations are available in Nogales, Patagonia and Rio Rico.
Maricopa County
Center is located at the Martin Luther King, Jr. School in Phoenix.
Pima County
Our Family Engagement Program partners with multiple centers throughout the Tucson area.

Resource centers make a difference for families
Evidence shows that Family Resource Centers make a meaningful difference for parent wellbeing, social connections, and protective factors.
- 87% of parents reported improved self-care after center participation compared to 38% before participation.
- 79% of parents reported having same-age peer networks after working with family resource centers compared to 23% before working with family resource centers.
- Most parents reported increased social-emotional competence (73%) and parenting knowledge (72%).

Family Resource Centers can take different forms depending on local needs, existing resources and community partners. University of Arizona Cooperative Extension can work with communities and organizations to explore potential models and the partnerships, staffing, funding strategies, programming, training and evaluation that may be needed to develop a sustainable approach.
