Diabetes Prevention Program

Overview

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a national initiative to reduce the development of type 2 diabetes. It is a 12-month, group based program which encourages lifestyle modifications shown to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. The DPP is designed for those who are at high risk of developing type two diabetes or who have been diagnosed with prediabetes. University of Arizona Cooperative Extension DPP  is being offered in person in 7 counties across Arizona (Graham, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai, and Yuma) and remotely over Zoom statewide.

El programa de prevención de diabetes (PPD) es una iniciativa nacional creada con el propósito de reducir el desarrollo de la diabetes tipo 2. Es un programa grupal de 12 meses que promueve modificaciones en el estilo de vida que reducen el riesgo del desarrollo de la diabetes tipo 2. El PDD esta diseñado para aquellos que están con un alto riesgo de desarrollar la diabetes tipo 2 o que hayan sido diagnosticado con prediabetes. El PDD de la Extensión Cooperativa de la Universidad de Arizona esta siendo ofrecida en persona en siete condados através del estado de Arizona (Graham, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai, and Yuma) y virtualmente através de Zoom por todo el estado.
