Family Resource Centers are coming to Cochise County

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension is creating Family Resource Centers in Cochise County to support families with children ages 0–5. Locations, schedules, and activity details will be updated soon. Join the mailing list to get the latest updates on locations, programs, and events.

What are Family Resource Centers?

Resource centers are welcoming community spaces where families can connect with other parents and caregivers. You can join interactive classes and get help finding local support for food, housing, childcare, and healthcare.

What services do they provide?

While services vary by location, centers feature trained staff who offer parenting classes and parent-child activities. Centers also host community events, offer child development screenings, and guide families to local resources.

What can I expect when I visit?

You can expect an open, supportive space designed for families. Friendly staff are ready to answer questions about parenting and child growth, sign you up for classes, and connect you to local resources.

Making a difference for families

Family Resource Centers play an important role in supporting parent wellbeing, social connections, and protective factors.

  • Parent wellbeing: 87% of parents reported improved self-care after center participation compared to 38% before participation.
  • Social Connections: 79% of parents reported having same-age peer networks after working with family resource centers compared to 23% before participation.
  • Protective factors: Most parents reported increased social-emotional competence (73%) and parenting knowledge (72%).
