All About Ear Infections
Ear infections can impact how well your child can hear. Learn how that happens and what you can do.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
In Pinal County, our hearing and vision staff screen children aged 1-5 yrs. to help identify any potential hearing or vision problems that may impact a child's development. The program focuses on educating families about the importance of early screenings, providing free hearing and vision tests, connecting families with intervention services when necessary, and promoting the benefits of early detection and intervention.
Developmental Screenings
Using the Ages and Stages Questionnaires and the Social Emotional Questionnaires, staff in Pinal County screen children ages 1 month to 5 years to evaluate if they are meeting developmental milestones. The purpose of these screenings is to help you celebrate your child’s developmental milestones while identifying any areas that may benefit from additional support or practices. Through this process, we may also detect potential developmental delays that could affect their future success in school. Screenings focus on key developmental areas such as communication, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving, and personal-social abilities. They also provide families with helpful resources and activities to support early skill development at home, promoting future success in school and beyond. Early detection and intervention lead to better outcomes for the child.

Developmental Milestone Activities
Though each child is different, developmental milestones are skills and behaviors most children learn to do by specific ages. These developmental milestone activity videos and handouts are a fun way for you and your child (ages 0-5) to work towards each of the five developmental milestones.
