Associate Specialist, Nutritional Sciences

Stephanie Grutzmacher is a community-engaged scholar seeking to eliminate structural, social, and economic barriers and ensure equitable access to healthy food locally and globally. Her applied research explores the unique experiences of food insecurity among underserved populations to identify best practices for food assistance and food access programs. She engages community collaborators and Extension Family & Consumer Health Sciences agents and staff to develop, implement, and evaluate programmatic strategies in family, school, retail, worksite, service agency, and community settings to improve food access and nutrition security.
