In June 2023, Dana Brothers joined Cochise County Cooperative Extension and has since been deeply involved with the Huachuca City Community Garden and Tombstone School District. Her work revolves around fostering community connections by creating a space to grow fresh produce, distribute it to local residents, all while partnering with the Garden Club at Huachuca City Elementary to provide education to students.
In addition, Dana is connecting with the farmers and ranchers in Cochise County to work on helping them find innovative ways to sell their produce and goods to local venues. In coordination with the Arizona Farm to School Program, she also is a champion for the local school districts to increase their fresh fruits and vegetables in their lunch menus, and she is helping coordinate growers with consumers in order to create sustainable and healthy living.
