To empower Arizona 4-H teen-leaders as generational leaders.
OVERVIEW
The Arizona State 4-H Youth Ambassador Program (State 4-H Ambassadors) is the premier youth leadership development opportunity in Arizona 4-H. The State 4-H Ambassador program provides 4-H teen leaders with the opportunity to advocate for 4-H youth, represent Arizona 4-H, and develop as generational leaders. The team consists of eight highly qualified 4-H State 4-H Ambassadors selected annually from a pool of statewide applicants. The State 4-H Ambassadors will work closely together as a collaborative team to help lead 4-H statewide leadership initiatives. Additionally, each will provide mentorship and leadership specific to their areas of expertise. State 4-H Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to make a significant difference and help steer the course of 4-H programming throughout our state.
GENERAL RULES
- State 4-H Ambassadors may serve a maximum of two terms. The application process must be successfully completed to serve a second term. Current Ambassadors are not guaranteed a second term. If not selected during a first-year selection process, you may apply again up to a max of two times.
- All State 4-H Ambassadors must very closely abide by the 4-H Code of Conduct.
- All State 4-H Ambassadors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and mature manner while representing Arizona 4-H.
- All State 4-H Ambassadors need to be willing to commit the necessary time and energy to be a statewide representative of Arizona 4-H.
- State Ambassadors are held accountable for their conduct outside of 4-H functions, including the content they choose to share on personal social media accounts.
- An ambassador term starts and ends at JOLT (Journey: Opportunities for Leaders of Tomorrow)
RESOURCES
Each of the following resources will be provided by Arizona 4-H in partnership with the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation.
Provided:
- housing, meals, and gas reimbursement to and from all required State 4-H functions;
- teaching supplies for workshops throughout the year;
- partial uniform for official and non-official dress;
- registration fees for all state-level events (including Summit and JOLT);
- extensive leadership training, public speaking practice, and many other diverse opportunities.
