Passive water harvesting is anything that doesn’t involve a pump or outside power. Water that lands on roofs, carports, sheds, driveways, or natural ground is concentrated and diverted to where it’s useful to plants, wildlife, and people, rather than just flowing away eroding your property.
Join us and learn, hands on
- Demonstration of using and placing gutters, splash pads, basins, and small tanks
- Backing up, infiltrating, and diverting water to planting basins, trees, and garden beds.
- Building One Rock Dams (ORD), swales and basins with overflows, and simple water diversions to move the water where you want it.
Schedule
- 10:00 am to 12:00 pm 468 Biscuit Canyon Road, Duncan, AZ
- 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm Brown bag working lunch –bring drawings and pictures if you’d like input from the class on your water harvest ideas and challenges.
- 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm Duncan Jr High Garden and Harmony Gardens water harvesting examples.
