Gila Rangeland Management
With only 4% private ground in Gila County, range livestock production is an integral part of the economy for Gila County. Due to the bimodial rainfall pattern in Arizona and a lack of irrigated land to grow feed on most ranches, it can be challenging to meet the nutritional requirements for a beef cow throughout a production year. Beef cow reproductive efficiency can be negatively influenced by a deficiency in protein in the forage during winter and the "summer slump" preceding monsoonal rains.

Widespread interest in VGS has been generated because the software generally meets the needs of both field personnel and administrative level managers. One reason for the success of VGS is that both office and field data entry forms are designed to fit specific combinations of sampling methods and forms in the most efficient manner for a particular sampling protocol. Data entry forms are designed to minimize the amount of writing, clicking and scrolling involved in entering data and navigating a form. Additional field and/or office modules for VGS to support your specific protocols and specifications can be developed.
