Cooperative Extension’s Family Engagement programs include parent education workshops and Family Resource Centers. The workshops and centers offer tools to make parenting easier and more intentional. In parent education, classes cover topics such as brain development, positive discipline, critical thinking and building healthy eaters.
Family engagement also offers classes that involve children and their parents. Children learn where their food comes from, what a purple carrot looks like and how to garden at home. They build key skills for kindergarten through play. We know we’ve been successful when the children don’t want to leave the class!
