The Master Gardeners invite you to visit their rose garden and learn how to care for and maximize blooms from your rose bushes.
When
Learn from Master Gardeners how to prune and prepare your rose bushes for a beautiful spring bloom! This seminar will teach you the steps involved in this yearly January process. After a presentation on the pruning of roses, you will partner with our garden rosarians to prune all around our lovely, traditional, 80-rose bush garden. You will cut back canes, protect those fresh cuts, and sanitize your tools between bushes. Following the garden activity, we will serve hot tea and scones. Finally, you’ll leave with some helpful items and garden guides you can use to bring out the best in your own roses. Please wear a hat, bring a water bottle and garden gloves, and consider bringing a portable chair if you would be more comfortable seated during the garden portion of the seminar. This workshop will take place rain or shine.
