When

July 10 – 12, 2026, All Day

Registration is now open in ZSuite.

https://4h.zsuite.org/events

Who:  4-H adult volunteers (preferably county certified volunteers, but not required, please talk to Erik for details) and senior age division 4-H youth members (aged 14 years and above) seeking qualification credentials to lead and instruct 4-H shooting sports disciplines at the club and county level.  Attendees who have not completed the certified volunteer process prior to the start of instructor training will have their credentials held by the state shooting sports coordinator until their volunteer certification status is confirmed by their local county 4-H professional.

What: Discipline qualifications being offered include:  rifle, pistol, muzzleloader, shotgun, archery, western heritage and hunting skills. Note that each discipline has a minimum class size required to be met in order for the class to conduct.  Students can choose two of these disciplines (based on scheduling availability) to complete during the weekend with the exception of western heritage and hunting skills as these two disciplines require the entire weekend to learn.  Every attempt will be made to support student prioritized discipline choices, but please understand that class sizes and schedules are limited.

When:  10-12 July 2026.  Check-in is on site 1700-1800 Friday, 10 July 2026.  Class begins Friday evening at 1800. Instruction will end at approximately 1430 on Sunday, 12 July 2026. Note: Our next planned Level-1 shooting sports instructor training opportunity after this workshop will be in December down in Tucson.

Where:  Northern Arizona Shooting Range, Flagstaff, Arizona.

2000 Forest Service Rd 128; Flagstaff, AZ 86004

Why:  Because nothing beats a weekend spent with fellow shooting sports enthusiasts who believe in the power of positive youth development through experiential learning experiences!  And, any day on the range is better than being at work.

Lodging and Meals:  On site dry camping is available at no charge.  There is no electricity or water available.  Tents or RVs/trailers are welcome.  There are vault toilet facilities on site.  All meals beginning with Friday dinner are included in the registration cost except for breakfast Saturday and Sunday.

Registration fees and break downs: The $125 per person registration fee will be collected in-person when checking in.  Cash or credit cards will be accepted for class fees.  Note that fees cover the meals listed, camping, range fees, and all equipment and expendables used during the workshop.
