Growing Futures in Arizona Agriculture course for Arizona K-12 teachers and administrators
When
Growing Futures in Arizona Agriculture is an free 8-week hybrid course taught by local Arizona agriculture experts that starts August 25th and trains educators to bring agricultural concepts into their classroom. Each week covers a different topic like school garden design, watershed health, soils, hydroponics, traditional indigenous agriculture, soil and horticulture. Curriculum resources for each topic are available. Seating is limited and enrolled educators will earn 3 CEUs from University of Arizona.
Time commitment
- Work at your own pace during the seven-week online portion of the class which starts the week of August 25, 2025. Typical workload is one to two hours per week.
- Required in-person experience October 18-19, 2025 at a small, woman-owned farm in the Verde Valley. Friday is a travel day, with a full day of instruction on Saturday and a half-day of instruction on Sunday.
