Junior, Intermediate and Senior age division shooting sports project members have the opportunity to compete in both air rifle and air pistol courses of fire during this event. The top four senior competitors in pistol and rifle qualify for the opportunity to represent Arizona at the 4-H National Championships Match in June 2027. The match early entry fee is $35. Late entries are $45.
Note there is no food service available on-site at Julia Randall school. Competitors are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks, or be prepared to purchase lunch on the economy from one of the several local establishments nearby. Time may be limited for competitors to leave the match to get food depending on how the day progresses.
Competitors are encouraged to provide their own equipment for this match, including personal protective equipment and pellets. Loaner equipment is available, but needs to be coordinated ahead of time with your club's shooting sports project instructor/leader or Erik if your club does not have any equipment available. Please note that we are relaxing equipment standards again during this event in order to support maximum participation. All .177 caliber, pellet-firing (non-precision classified, Sporter division and below) air rifles will be allowed to be used as long as they have iron sights (non-optical or projecting) and shoot less than 600 fps for the 3-position match. The same rifles with iron sights or optics (non-projecting) are allowed during the silhouette match. All .177 caliber, pellet-firing, iron sighted air pistols shooting less than 600fps are allowed to be used during pistol matches. Competitors may use iron sights or optics (non-projecting) on the same equipment during the silhouette pistol match.
The range will be open for free optional practice from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday night.
