The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a national initiative to reduce the development of type 2 diabetes. It is a 12-month, group based program which encourages lifestyle modifications shown to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. The DPP is designed for those who are at high risk of developing type two diabetes or who have been diagnosed with prediabetes. The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension DPP (UA CE-DPP) will be offered in 9 counties across Arizona, starting in 2018: Apache, Cochise, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, and Yavapai.
