Being a part of the club officer team is a great responsibility! As an officer you are making a commitment to your peers and your club leaders to become a better leader, take responsibility for your role, be organized, and reliable. All officers should learn parliamentary procedures so that your meeting runs smoothly. Your attitude affects the meeting and those attending, go with a positive attitude! You are a role model to other 4-H’ers, always treat others courteously, respectfully, and tactfully. Recognize others for what they do and encourage participation! Make your meetings welcoming to all!! We want everyone to feel like they BELONG in 4-H, and you are the first step! Above all, make your 4-H meetings FUN for ALL, we want members to come back!
4-H club officers are elected annually in accordance with the club's constitution and by-laws. Under the guidance of the 4-H community club leader and/or the officer's advisor, officers are responsible for a particular part of the 4-H club's function. Generally, 4-H clubs have a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, recreation officer, and scrapbook officer. However, 4-H Clubs may have additional officers according to their constitution and by-laws. Other activities and events may be planned by a committee.
