- What is Cooperative Extension?
Cooperative Extension, a Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, is an outreach arm of the University of Arizona that serves as a statewide network of knowledgeable faculty and staff that provide lifelong educational programs for all Arizonans. Cooperative Extension provides a link between the university and the citizens of this state.
- Where is the Prescott office located?
The Prescott office is located at 840 Rodeo Drive, Building C, on the Prescott Rodeo Grounds. Use the entrance off of Gail Gardner Way.
- Where is the Camp Verde office located?
The Camp Verde office is located at 2830 N Commonwealth Drive, Suite 103, on the grounds of the Justice Facility. When you enter Commonwealth Drive head toward the Out of Africa entrance. The Cooperative Extension is at the end of the parking on your left.
- What Cooperative Extension programs are offered in Yavapai County?
Yavapai County’s extension service offers 4-H Youth Development; Agriculture and Natural Resources; Family, Consumer, and Health Sciences; and the volunteer Master Gardener program.
- Is there a charge for your services?
Most of our services are free. In some instances fees may be collected for our classes and workshops. The fee helps defer the costs of delivering these programs. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards.
- I would like to make a donation to Cooperative Extension. How do I do that?
If you would like to make a donation to the Yavapai County Cooperative Extension office and/or a specific program within extension, visit our donation page and click on the donation form link. https://extension.arizona.edu/yavapai-donations
- Where can I find out about upcoming events, classes and workshops?
We post events on our website and Facebook page as soon as they are announced. If you’d like to be added to our events distribution list, email yavapaipres@cals.arizona.edu.
- What holidays does your office observe?
The University of Arizona observes the following holidays: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and the following day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Additionally, our offices are closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day. For specific dates, check our Facebook page for updates.
- Do you close during inclement weather?
During inclement weather, we open and close the office based on the public school district schedule. For example, if the school district is on a two-hour delay, our offices will open at 11:00 A.M. https://www.prescottschools.com/
