Classes we offer

Pickling

Pickling is one of the oldest forms of food preservation. And it isn’t limited to just cucumbers. Pickling can be spicy, or sweet and can include everything from carrots to okra. Learn the basics from us and become a confident and excited food preserver with Quick Pickling. Hands on learning is a big part of this class so you can build the skills you need. There will be plenty for you to take home with you!

Fermentation

What is your favorite fermented food? Sauerkraut? Kimchi? How about fermented pickles rather than quick pickling? There are different ways to ferment foods. We will show you how to create a brine and we will do a hands on fermentation process making sauerkraut or kimchi depending on your preference. There will be plenty for you to take home with you!

Water Bath Canning

A great way to preserve fruits as jams and jellies as well as preserving high acid foods. What are high acid foods? We’ll tell you what they are and how to add the right acids and amounts of acids to safely preserve in a water bath canner. Food to go for you to share with your family and friends.

Pressure Cooking

Never used a pressure cooker? Find them a little intimidating? But you still want to learn how to can your own vegetables, soups, stews, meat, and fish? This class will give you all the skills and confidence to preserve the foods you grow or purchase. Everyone will take some food home with them.
