The Pima County Master Gardener Program offers free tours of its 12 demonstration gardens, which feature native, non-native, and drought-tolerant plants. We showcase various planting, irrigation, and composting methods for desert horticulture. We highly recommend the Master Gardener-led 90-minute tours on Wednesday or Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. (February – May, and September – December). Please meet at the front entrance of the extension.

*Please note that this event will be canceled without notice if it rains.

If you have a large group or a topic of special interest for your club or association, these free tours can be booked in advance by calling Celeste Gambill at (520) 626-2943.

The gardens are also open for the public to explore during daylight hours. We ask that you remain on the pathways, do not take samples, make sure gates are closed behind you, and leave your pets at home.

Come and learn what you can grow in the desert!
