October 11th - Evening Educational Event (Tucson Hopshop, 6pm)
- Just a short drive from the hotel, the Tucson Hopshop will host our educational event. Learn about Arizona viticulture and the Arizona wine industry from three of Arizona's cooperative extension professionals working in viticulture: Josh Sherman, Matt Halldorson, and Jeremy Weiss as they discuss the terroir of Arizona and how it affects the wines produced here.
October 12th - Professional Improvement Conference and a Banquet Dinner
- Keynote speaker: Larry Tranel (Iowa) will be focusing our attention on Farm Stress management and how we as extension professionals can address this sometimes difficult topic.
- Oral presentations submitted by members.
- Poster session happy hour - enjoy a selection of charcuterie boards and a beverage choice while you network with colleagues during the poster session.
- Banquet Dinner to wrap up the day.
October 13th - Professional Development Tours (return to hotel by 4pm)
- Livestock/Natural Resources Tour: This tour will head south out of Tucson, ending up on the border in Nogales, AZ. Learn about the challenges facing ranchers in southern Arizona and watch cattle cross the border from Mexico into the United States.
- Horticulture Tour: This tour will include visits to the Pima County Master Gardener Program's public Demonstration gardens, a current Drought tolerance research trial for ornamental horticulture, a whole nursery, and a commercial pecan orchard.
