Trick Or Treat So Others Can Eat
Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat is statewide 4-H community service project benefitting your local community.
WHAT: “Trick or Treat SO Others Can Eat” In cooperation with Arizona 4-H and the Arizona Association of Food Banks
WHY: Because many people go hungry each day. This is a call to action for 4-H members across Arizona to put their “hands” and their “hearts” into action to reach out to the community.
WHEN: Designated dates on the county 4-H Calendar
WHERE: Your own community, your club, or designated sites through your county
HOW: “Trick or Treat SO Others Can Eat” is a simple community service. Here are some ideas on how you can make it work in your community:
✔ Conduct a food drive in your own community or neighborhood as a 4-H Community Club.
✔ Organize with Halloween Carnivals in your area, and have everyone donate a can of food to enter the door.
✔ Work with local grocery stores to set up a space to collect food during the event dates.
✔ Work in partnership with other organizations, i.e. a volunteer center, Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, to collect food for your community.
✔ HAVE FUN collecting food with your 4-H club and community organizations.
THEN WHAT: After the activity, you should call your county 4-H Office and let us know how many pounds of non-perishable food you delivered to your local food bank.
THINGS YOU WILL NEED: Recycled plastic grocery bags, a 4-H shirt, and BIG SMILES!!
