Class ​​Description: ​
Learn ​the ​basics ​of ​pruning ​to ​keep ​your ​trees ​and ​shrubs ​healthy, ​functional ​and ​attractive. ​This ​class ​will ​cover ​the ​art ​and ​science ​of ​good ​pruning, ​including ​how ​to ​prune ​young ​trees ​for ​good ​structure. ​You’ll ​also ​learn ​the ​five ​basic ​types ​of ​pruning ​and ​the ​two ​worst ​pruning ​mistakes. ​Pruning ​demonstration ​and ​take-home ​materials ​included. ​Instructed ​by ​ISA ​Certified ​Arborist® ​John ​Eisenhower.

The ​​learning ​​objectives ​​of ​​this ​​class ​​include: ​
1. ​To ​understand ​“The ​Art ​and ​Science ​of ​Pruning”;
2. ​To ​comprehend ​plant ​responses ​to ​pruning;
3. ​To ​know ​pruning ​objectives;
4. ​To ​identify ​five ​pruning ​types;
5. ​To ​avoid ​two ​common ​pruning ​mistakes.

John ​is ​the ​owner ​of ​Integrity ​Tree ​Service ​in ​Phoenix, ​AZ, ​a ​residential ​and ​commercial ​tree ​care ​provider ​since ​1989. ​He ​is ​an ​ISA ​Certified ​Arborist, ​Master ​Gardener ​and ​Certified ​Treecare ​Safety ​Professional. ​He ​is ​a ​member ​of ​the ​American ​Society ​of ​Consulting ​Arborists, ​Past ​President ​of ​the ​Arizona ​Community ​Tree ​Council ​and ​holds ​a ​degree ​in ​English ​Literature ​from ​Arizona ​State ​University. ​
