Pomegranates are well-suited to our desert environment and are easy to grow.

In the 16th century, the Spanish brought them to Mexico, Arizona and California.

The botanical name is "Punica granatum".  The deciduous shrub, or small tree, grows between 16 to 26 feet tall.
