Pinal Range & Livestock

University of Arizona Pinal County Cooperative Extension

Livestock and range management is a key economic component in Pinal County, contributing millions of dollars a year annually. In 2012 over 270,000 cattle & calves were sold for a total value which exceeded $314,000,000. The economic footprint of the livestock and range industry has a profound impact in the state of Arizona and in Pinal County. Understanding the unique challenges managers face in navigating diverse ecosystems, and ownership of federal, state and private ranges in Pinal County is vital for creating successful management strategies.
