Pima Livestock

Pima county ranks seventh in the state for agricultural production with a total products sold value of $97,287,000. Of that figure, the value of livestock and their products sold accounts for 23%, or just over $22,603,000. Pima County has 18,300 head of cattle and calves, 6,800 horses, 3,100 layers, and 1,200 goats. Cooperative Extension develops research based educational programs and problem solving for Pima county livestock producers in the areas of animal health and nutrition, marketing, reproduction and genetics, meat quality assurance, and rangeland health.
