Message from Bill Cook, Greenlee County Program Coordinator Sr. - Horticulture
I am pleased to announce that UACE Greenlee is now able to host hands on workshops once again! Masks will be required for indoor programming and a social distance of 6 feet will be required indoors and out.
This came just in time for our next class, Plant selection and planting techniques. We will meet Saturday, October 24th, at the Extension Office, 1684 Fairgrounds Road, Duncan, from 9:00am till noon.
In this class, we will learn the importance of selecting the exact spot for a plant, which sort of plant will yield desired results, nursery shopping tips, planting methods and after care for best results.
The cost of this workshop is $10.00 to the public and is included in tuition paid by those enrolled in the Greenlee County Master Gardener program.
And there's more! We are currently working toward grapes, grown as a commercial enterprise in Greenlee County. If you are interested in being a part of the grape industry, contact me by email or call me at 928-254-8734.
More yet! Seed libraries are now open in the libraries, as before Covid, with minor adjustments. This means seed library events, garden classes and "seed parties" will be coming soon. To keep up on future events, watch the Greenlee Treasury of Seeds Facebook.
