Family Consumer Science Contests (FCS) 2023

This event has been scheduled for May 13, 2023 at the Maricopa Agriculture Center in Maricopa.

What is FCS? In today's complex world, we study the science and the art of living and working well.  FCS helps people develop the knowledge and skills to build strong families and bonds, make meaningful contributions to our community, be work and career ready, and lead better lives.  FCS focuses in the areas of culinary arts, hospitality and tourism, food science and nutrition, education and training, healthy management and wellness, housing and interior design, human/child development, personal fitness, and textiles, apparel, and retail. FCS represents:

• Health & Human Sciences
• Family & Consumer Sciences
• Home Economics
• Human Sciences
• Human Ecology

In 4-H, there are many FCS related projects.  These include sewing, cooking, baking, nutrition, design, business, and more

This event is a qualifier for seniors for Western National Roundup 2024 in Denver. Seniors may qualify in Consumer Decision Making, Fashion Revue, FCS Bowl, and Skill-a-thon. More information here.
