Beginning Farmer & Rancher Workshop Series

Yavapai County

This 3-part series, presented by University of Arizona, is for new or beginning farmers and ranchers who are interested in starting a plant food or livestock operation.  Topics covered:

  • Soil health and weed mitigation
  • USDA programs for beginning farmers
  • Business and marketing plans
  • POS Software
  • Customer relationships and business management
  • Food safety and more

Keynote speakers: Russ Tronstad, Professor and Extension Specialist; Priyanka Sharma, U of A Post Doctoral Scholar; and Michael Pierce, Director of Enology & Viticulture

Morning 9:00AM to 12:00PM sessions will be followed by lunch and farm tour.  Lunch will be provided.
