Citizenship Washington Focus

Participants: Youth 14-19 years
Summary: Embark on a journey to leadership through the 2021 Virtual Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF). If you have a passion for community impact, personal development, and government education - then, this is the event for you! Some of the topics that will be explored are Civil Discourse, Informed Decision Making, Media Literacy, and ways to assess the needs in your surrounding community to identify the best ways for you to affect change. Also an enhanced Action Plan process will be introduced, which is called the Dolphin Tank (like the hit show Shark Tank but with less bite!).
CWF will be a virtual, once-a-week program that will begin on June 20. These workshops will run every Sunday and Monday (except for July 4) for 5 weeks. Youth will participate either Sunday or Monday for their delegation. Each session will last 2-2.5 hours, starting at 6:30pm Eastern Time. Therefore the dates are as follows:
- Sunday courses:
- June 20, 27
- July 6 (Tuesday), 11, 18
- Monday courses:
- June 21, 28
- July 5, 12, 19
Arizona 4-H will be able to send a delegation of 30 youth, and the registration fees for all 30 will be covered by the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation. Please register for CWF in ZingBooks by April 16, 2021 (under the "Events" tab). The Arizona 4-H State Office can then select and register all of the participants from Arizona as one delegation. You must be an active member enrolled in ZingBooks in order to participate.
