Use our beautiful fall and early winter weather to your advantage through vegetable gardening in the low desert.

Objectives

  • Plant using a planting calendar for timely harvest
  • Identify variety characteristics that will produce a successful seasonal harvest
  • Experiment with ‘new to you’ cool season veggies, herbs and edible flowers!
  • Learn about succession plantings for freshest baby veggies!

Speaker For a very long time now Master Gardener Pam Perry has shared a love of gardening with fellow master gardeners in the demonstration vegetable garden on the Maricopa county cooperative extension grounds. She brings this love of growing vegetables, herbs and other plants to the DIG program with the support of other master gardeners. The experience based on quantified research and the experience of many gardeners informs this program, along with a hope that you too will come to love the fun of planting, harvesting, eating fresh veggies, and even weeding.
