Horticulture production in Cochise County is comprised of nearly 15,000 acres of apples, green and red chile, cherries, peaches, pecans, pistachios, grapes, and pumpkins. Crops grown in Cochise County are similar to those grown in Southern New Mexico, West Texas and the State of Chihuahua in Central Northern Mexico. These areas are similar in terms of terrain and weather patterns because they are all located in the Chihuahua Desert.
