SIERRA VISTA — Punch “4-H Club” in an Internet search engine and the first page of image results are the 4-H Club’s signature four-leaf clover logo and of children tending to their farm animals and gardens.

Making the assumption that 4-H club members are America’s next generation of green-thumbed ranchers is an easy one. However, take a trip to Cochise County’s 4-H Club at the University of Arizona’s Sierra Vista campus at one of their “Super Saturdays” events and one learns that the goal is to enrich children with more than just soil. 4-H Club in Arizona is operated via the University of Arizona’s College of Agriculture of Life Sciences Cooperative Extension.
