Mission & Vision

We provide long-term support for Arizona 4-H Programs

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation is to encourage and support young people who are participating in the 4-H Youth Development programs throughout Arizona.  Just as the 4-H pledge encourages young people to work toward learning to lead meaningful and productive lives, the Foundation pledges to support their efforts through the acquisition, management and distribution of charitable contributions from individuals, foundations and organizations committed to positive youth development education.

The Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation manages over 80 endowments invested in annuities totaling approximately $2.2 million. These annuities provide guaranteed income to support over 20 different 4-H programs, 35 annual scholarships and the general operating funds for the Foundation.

Here’s how we make a difference:

  1. AWARDING approximately 35 post-secondary scholarships for 4-H senior youth. These scholarships are open to use in any college in the country.  See our list of our winners on our “Scholarship Winners” tab on this website.
  2. SUPPORTING 20 statewide and national programs/activities such as JOLT (Junior Organization for Leadership Training), Arizona 4-H Summit, State Ambassadors, National 4-H Congress, National 4-H Conference, Western National Roundup, national judging contests in Louisville, Kansas City and Phoenix, Citizenship Washington Focus, Citizenship Washington Focus Presidential Inauguration, Leadership Washington Focus, Arizona 4-H Horse and Dog Contests, Shooting Sports Education and National Ambassador, Arizona Communications Day Contest, Arizona Family & Consumer Science Contest Day,
  3. SERVING as the IRS 501(c)(3) umbrella organization for 177 4-H Clubs in 15 counties and 5 Tribal Nations by providing accounting support. Clubs and County organizations often use the non-profit documentation needed to solicit other support.
  4. CREATING and RAISING monies through many ways to support national, state and local programs that make                                                                                                     “The Best Better.”
