Yavapai County Cooperative Extension has many resources available to local residents on important local water topics. Arizona Project WET provides water education for local teachers and youth through teacher workshops and outreach programs. We support local stakeholder groups and deliver classes on topics of interest. Our Master Watershed Stewards program connects people to their local watershed while providing participants with volunteer opportunities.
Free workshops will be held May 12 in Prescott and on June 9th in Cottonwood. There will be three presentations to help participants learn the basics of designing both passive and active rainwater harvesting systems. Participants will be able calculate rainwater yields and how to size the collection system accordingly. Participants will also learn about soil and plant considerations when using rainwater in a landscape. Please pre-register for this workshop by calling Pam Denney at 928-445-6590 x221.
