The Irrigation Water Management program provides growers with up-to-date information on managing their irrigation systems for crop growth. This includes science-based information on crop water requirements, irrigation system management and irrigation scheduling. Crop information includes water usage for a variety of crops including vegetables, tree crops and traditional row crops. Science-based information on irrigation system management is also available including deciding when to irrigate, measuring soil moisture and determining runtime for drip irrigation systems.
A 15-acre vacant lot on the corner of Indian School & Central Avenue in Phoenix will be transformed into community space with urban agriculture, art work, food trucks, and more. UA CALS Cooperative Extension is a large land partner on the project. The project, called PHX Renews, is a result of a partnership with Keep Phoenix Beautiful (a nonprofit), the City of Phoenix, and the landowner, Barron Collier Companies.
