Abstract or Description:
Arizona’s rural areas are undergoing increasingly greater development. More people are building homes in forests, shrublands, and grasslands to take advantage of these natural environments. Often, these sites are quite remote. However, many people moving from urban settings expect traditional fire and emergency services. They may not understand the limitations of fire protection that exist in rural areas.
