The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Family Resource Centers operate in South Phoenix, Nogales, and Rio Rico . Funded by First Things First, the centers serve as a place for families of children birth to age 5 to:
engage with their children in learning activities,
find out about child growth and development,
take parenting classes and
connect with other resources.
The goal of the centers is to help parents and caregivers prepare their young for kindergarten by engaging in positive, appropriate and meaningful ways.
The University of Arizona, with its land-grant mission, is dedicated to serving the community in a variety of ways. One of those ways is by promoting good health and nutrition throughout the state and beyond through health education, outreach and research.
