The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension offers many programs related to home horticulture, commercial horticulture, and community based agriculture in Maricopa County.
A 15-acre vacant lot on the corner of Indian School & Central Avenue in Phoenix will be transformed into community space with urban agriculture, art work, food trucks, and more. UA CALS Cooperative Extension is a large land partner on the project. The project, called PHX Renews, is a result of a partnership with Keep Phoenix Beautiful (a nonprofit), the City of Phoenix, and the landowner, Barron Collier Companies.
